With generous sponsorship by General Motors Research and Development, Falcon Engineering and Design Solutions, FEDS 201 Rochester HS Robotics Team, is a hands-on approach to engineering and technology, including participation in regional and national US FIRST Robotics Competitions. Our 2009 competitions are set to take place at the Michigan FIRST Robotics Competition State Championship at Eastern Michigan University, Traverse City FIRST Robotics District Competition at Traverse City High School, Detroit FIRST Robotics District Competition at Wayne State University, and the US FIRST Championship Competition, Atlanta, GA. The program involves 34 diverse students in CAD design and animation, programming, electrical, mechanical build, carpentry, PR/marketing, and website design.
The FEDS would like to give a special thanks to AVL for the additional support that we needed to go to the FIRST Championship this year!
Congratulations to the FEDS on a great start at the Traverse City FIRST Robotics District Competition!
The FEDS finished 5th in the seeding matches, and we were graciously chosen by team 123, who seeded 3rd, and were joined by team 2612, the Syntax Errors. The alliance won their first two quarterfinal matches against the alliance of teams 1322, 3115, and 2619. Next, the FEDS alliance lost their first semifinal match against teams 904, 2188, and 1918. With a vengeance, the alliance came back and won their second semifinal match 63-62. Unfortunately, the FEDS alliance lost their last semifinal match 83-48.

The FEDS also won two awards - the Website Award, which recognizes excellence in student-designed, built, and managed FIRST team websites, and the Motorola Quality Award, which celebrates machine robustness in concept and fabrication.
